First Grade Reading Lesson Plans and Activities for January

There are four weeks worth of lesson plans! The lesson plans were carefully crafted to include objectives, reading strategies, vocabulary, comprehension strategies for fiction and nonfiction, craftivities, and anchor charts. This month’s focus is visualization, which will be assessed the 3rd week. Students also compare and contrast similar books, practice retell, make connections and inferences.

Original nonfiction and fiction texts are included with this unit. The nonfiction texts include stunning photographs and nonfiction text features such as labels, captions, titles, maps, diagrams, table of contents, etc.
